the games took place in Bozdos Park in the formats "tete-a-tete", "doublets", "triplets". About 50 athletes from Ukraine, Slovakia, Germany and France took part in them. The Vyshgorod club was represented at these competitions by Darya Yarovenko, Mykola Kuzovkin, Vladyslav Cherevan and Valery Kovalchuk. On the first day of the tournament, 41 athletes competed in the "tetas". It is nice to note that the players of "Uptown" took quite high places. After 4 rounds of the "Swiss", Daria Yarovenko and Vladyslav Cherevan made it to the 1/8 finals (group "A"), but only Daria, who demonstrated an excellent game, made it to the next stage. Unfortunately, she failed to reach the semi-finals due to a defeat by Andrii Kamenev with a score of 11:13, who in the end took 3rd place in the overall standings. The victory was celebrated by Petro Goys, who beat Vladyslav Godovanets in the final with a score of 13:11. In group "B" (25 participants), the "silver" award was chosen by our club's pétanque player Mykola Kuzovkin. We congratulate him on this success! The next day, athletes (23 teams) competed in "doublets". After 4 rounds of the "Swiss" and playoff matches, the "duets" of Dmytro Bugai/Ihor Sekhin and Yevhenii Lyhovidov/Vlasta Vysochanska reached the finals. Dmytro and Igor won with a score of 13:6. The bronze medals went to the "doublet" of Mario Presutti/Petro Goys. But in group "B" our Mykola Kuzovkin again received a "silver" medal together with his partner Yaroslav Helyas. Once again congratulations Mykola! On Sunday, the "triplets" competition took place. 15 teams took part in them. Showing a phenomenal game throughout the tournament, our "triplet" consisting of Mykola Kuzovkin, Vladyslav Cherevan and Valery Kovalchuk took 3rd place. This is an incredible success for the relatively young Uptown pétanque club. The best team in this category was Peter Paul Gillade/Andriy Hanusych/Anatoly Muschynka. In the final of the tournament, they were stronger than the team of Taras Hrytsyuk/Yuriy Shiplyak/Yuriy Chetverikov. In general, it is worth noting the excellent (as usual) organization of the Sakura tournament and the unforgettable atmosphere that reigned on the grounds for 3 days. Congratulations to all Uptown players for their excellent results during these competitions!
